Lafert Group permanent magnet synchronous motors offer efficiency classes IE5 and IE6, combining the advantages of asynchronous and servo technologies.

HP Integral Series / An integrated package in which a permanent magnet synchronous motor with IE5 Ultra Premium Efficiency level and its variable frequency drive are combined in a single body. The drive system reaches IES2 efficiency level.

The motor combines the electrical design of brushless servo motors with the mechanical design of asynchronous motors. This increases power density and allows a size and weight reduction of up to 50%.

The drive is built into its own housing on the motor. This removes the cable between the two units, the space in the electrical cabinet and the question of compatibility - motor and drive come from a single manufacturer, configured for each other.

The second generation of the series has an ultra compact housing and preloaded operating parameters. The package is ready to run immediately after connection, with no on-site setup.

The series is designed for HVAC installations, pumps and ventilation, as well as for constant torque applications - conveyors, compressors, vacuum pumps.

Compactness matters for more than the space at installation. A smaller frame means less material, lighter supporting structures and lower costs for transport and replacement throughout the life of the installation.

The product line is available in the following versions:

HP Integral frame size 71 - with single-phase supply and quadratic torque up to 2.2 kW, with built in keypad on request, for HVAC applications

HP Integral Smart - frame sizes 90 and 112, general purpose configuration with pump and fan modes, power ratings up to 11 kW

HP Integral Flow - frame sizes 90 and 112, configuration for HVAC with energy saving functions and built in keypad on request, power ratings up to 15 kW, also with 500-600 V supply

HP Integral Plus - frame sizes 90 and 112, configuration for demanding applications with built in programmable controller and 200% overload, power ratings up to 11 kW

What IES2 means

IES2 is the energy efficiency class of the complete drive system - the motor together with the variable frequency drive - to IEC 61800-9-2. The classes are IES0, IES1 and IES2, where IES2 means losses at least 20% below the reference value.

The IE classes describe the motor only, while IES accounts for the consumption of the system, including the losses in the drive. In variable speed applications it is system efficiency that determines the electricity bill.

In HP Integral the motor is class IE5, the drive is class IE2, and the system as a whole reaches IES2.

Here is what this means for the frame size.

For 5.5 kW an asynchronous motor requires frame size 112 and weighs 34 kg. HP Integral covers the same power with frame size 90 at 19.5 kg, with the drive already built in.

For 7.5 kW the comparison is frame size 132 at 53 kg against frame size 112 at 31.5 kg.

One frame size lower and around 40% less weight, with no separate drive in the cabinet.
