Lafert Group's permanent magnet synchronous motors offer IE5 and IE6 energy efficiency and combine the advantages of asynchronous and servo technologies.

IFM Series / An integrated direct drive fan motor in which a synchronous motor with IE5 Ultra Premium Efficiency is combined with a variable frequency drive in a single body. The drive system reaches IES2 efficiency level.

The drive is built into the rear of the motor and consists of a power module and a control module. The fan is mounted directly on the shaft - no gearbox and no belt drive.

The motor delivers torque up to 170 Nm at low speed and runs under control down to 1-2 min⁻¹. This allows direct drive of fan blades up to 7 metres in diameter.

The series is developed for large volume spaces - shopping centres, sport halls, production facilities, livestock farms. In such spaces a single fan with large blades evens out the temperature throughout the entire volume and removes air stratification.

These installations run continuously throughout the season. In such a duty cycle the difference in efficiency accumulates over the entire service life.

What HVLS means

HVLS stands for High Volume Low Speed - a large volume of air at low rotational speed. Instead of a small blade at high speed, a blade up to 7 metres in diameter turns slowly and moves the air smoothly through the entire space.

It is established that air speed above 3 m/s brings no additional cooling. The system therefore operates below this value and reaches the desired indoor climate with minimal consumption. Compared to conventional ventilation systems the energy saving reaches 50%.

The second advantage is mechanical. There is no gearbox - no losses in the gear mesh, no oil changes, no wearing parts. Maintenance of the transmission is eliminated entirely.

With frame size IFM40 a blade 7 metres in diameter is driven directly at 75 min⁻¹ by a motor with a rated power of 1335 W.
