PAD for axial fans

PAD mounting / A mounting solution for axial fans in which the feet are removed and the motor is held by four pads placed at 90 degrees around the circumference of the frame.

In an axial fan the motor sits inside the air stream itself. Every protrusion beyond its outline disturbs the flow and reduces the efficiency of the fan. With PAD mounting nothing extends beyond that outline.

The pads are replaceable and are fixed to the standard frame. This has two consequences. If a thread is damaged, only the pad is replaced, not the whole motor. And because the frame remains standard, all other Lafert options remain available - special winding, increased anti-corrosion protection, operation over a wide temperature range.

The solution is offered in frame sizes 80 to 160, with asynchronous motors from IE1 to IE4 and with permanent magnet synchronous motors of IE4 and IE5. An existing machine can move to higher aerodynamic efficiency without redesigning the structure and can meet the requirements of the European ecodesign directive.

The flat cover follows the same logic. The standard terminal box stands above the frame and is also in the path of the air. The flat version reduces both the space it occupies and the disturbance to the flow.
